I was reading over the patch notes and noticed that CCP is finally getting around to fixing the Sleepers ability to energy drain.
I have not had a chance to test this out yet, so it is unknown how much this will affect ship's ability to tank. Most sleepers carry NOS so as long as it works like NOS does for players (ie, no energy drain when the target ship has less cap then the NOS ship) I don't see it as a problem. However, I do believe some Sleeper ships have Neuts as well.
What does this mean?
Well, it could be nothing. NOS isn't really a killer unless you flirt too low with the 33% max recharge. Neuts could really ruin your day. It may become unable to solo C3 content now with this change due to the extra stress on the capacitor.
Let me know what your seeing out there.
I touched this subject (albeit very shortly) on my newcomer blog. I haven't noticed any changes in running C3's, although my setups have been quite cap stable even before the patch. I'm not a 100% sure here, but I think the Sleepers only neut, even though they use the NOS effect. I haven't had the chance of running any C4+ after the patch so I can't comment onthat yet, but so far it doesn't seem too bad for C3's. You have a great blog by the way - it gives me something to aspire to.
ReplyDeleteDo you realy want to know?
ReplyDeletePeople are losing spidertank carriers and dreads in class 5 and six systems, LSB Tengu cant tank anymore over class 3 anomalies, hundreds of ships are lost. There is no more room for a single player with 4-5 simultaneously running clients. Prices for WH materials are skyrocketing right now.
And all of this due to one small fix.
